Biography for Holly Brisley

Holly Brisley (born 11 Jan. 1978 (41 years ago)) in Adelaide, is an Australian actress and model who has appeared on TV since she was 15.

She is primarily known for her TV career in Australian dramas such as All Saints and Home and Away, and her earlier work hosting children’s programs such as Agro's Cartoon Connection and The Looney Tunes Show. She has slowly made the transition into films, with her notable roles being in Scooby-Doo, Garage Days and The Crop.

Holly was ranked 5th (2000, 19 years ago) and 29th (2001, 18 years ago) in FHM's 'Australia's 100 Sexiest Women'. On 1 Jun. 2005 (14 years ago), She received a movie Award for 'Best Actress - Feature Film' at the New York movie & Video Festival for her portrayal of "Geraldine" in the Australian movie The Crop. The movie also won 'Best International Feature'.

Career

As Holly grew up, she excelled at speech and drama and joined the Paradise Performer's Dance Academy, where she participated in various classes such as jazz ballet and tap, and also took part in various Eisteddfods, winning many awards. By the age of 13 she was on the books of the Studio Search Agency on the Gold Coast, with her first roles being the Australian telemovies The Flood: Who Will Save Our Children? in 1993 (26 years ago) and Official Denial in 1994 (25 years ago).

It wasn’t until Holly began her regular TV career in 1995 (24 years ago) on the Logie Award winning children’s program, Agro's Cartoon Connection that she began to receive recognition, later hosting The Looney Tunes Show in a more adult style.

After various guest appearances and hosting gigs, Holly featured in Dancing with The Stars in 2005 (14 years ago), and then landed the permanent role of town vixen Amanda Vale on soap opera Home and Away, where she remained for two years. In late 2007 (12 years ago), Holly briefly returned to Home and Away, and will reprise her role again in July, 2009 (10 years ago).

In 2008 (11 years ago), Holly voiced a main character for a new cartoon series which is due to screen on the ABC in 2009 (10 years ago).

Personal life

Brisley's family moved from Adelaide to the Gold Coast while she was still a baby.

Holly became engaged to marketing executive Paul Ford in Venice in 2005 (14 years ago) and they married on 11 Feb. 2006 (13 years ago) in Manly, Sydney. They exchanged vows in the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel, in the grounds of St Patrick's and overlooking the ocean. This is the same place that Nicole Kidman (24 walls) and Keith Urban were married.

Holly and Paul are now expecting a child.

Holly has Coeliac Disease, and appeared on the cover of "The Australian Coeliac" sep. 2005 (14 years ago) edition.
